Justice In Uganda

Dear Friends,

This past summer, my dear friend Kendra asked me to read a book with her called Love Does by Bob Goff, a lawyer, founder and CEO of Restore International. Mr. Goff created this organization to seek justice for oppressed people after he took a trip to Uganda in 2003, contributing to the release of 71 kids who were wrongfully committed to jail. Since that trip this organization has built a 260-bed, six-building boarding school, filled with kids rescued from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kony">Joseph Kony's tyrannic Lord's Resistance Army, and the more recently constructed safe home for girls who have been rescued from the sex trafficking trade.

I recently noticed my heart beating again and now it needs to beat for someone else as well. This is why I must go and do something about the injustice happening, of which this particular country has its fill. I plan to tour Kampala, the capital, and Gulu in the north, visiting various mission organizations to network and see if there is a place for me to serve, even beyond this short-term trip.

Currently, I am saving up for a plane ticket and getting my immunizations. I plan to leave in January for approximately two weeks but specific logistics of lodging and activities have not been decided yet. 

I would like to ask you to consider contributing financially to this trip because I need you to be a part of this journey with me and I believe that the money will be used in ways far above what I could ever dream. I pledge to keep you informed of all that I intend as the planning process continues and to share the successes as well as the hardships from now until I return. I will responsible to you and I pray I would be a faithful servant in whatever I am asked to endure and all of which I am allowed to partake.
