THE SUMMER SPINE FOR FAMILY COURT INJUSTICES
A 268-mile run non-stop up the Pennine way
Hi, thank you for looking at our Campaign
We would like to gain your support with our Campaign Justice For Family Court Children, #JusticeforFCchildren
In June 2020 the review into Family Courts and how it treats victims of domestic abuse and their children was published. It is a damning report and echoes our concerns that victims of domestic abuse and their children are horrifically let down by the system.

Our plan-
We desperately need people in power to help us gain justice.
Sarah and Victoria met when Sarah got in touch with Victoria in support of her campaigning around Family Courts
Sarah came up with the idea to do an astronomical challenge, the Summer Spine, to raise awareness of the campaign and raise money for some local and national domestic abuse charities and organisations that help victims.
The Montane Summer Spine is the summer version of the classic Montane Spine event; Racing 268 miles non-stop along the most iconic national trail in Britain, the Pennine Way. The Pennine Way crosses some of the most beautiful and, at times difficult terrain found in England, including; the peak district, cheviots, Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland national park – finishing at the Scottish borders.
Sarah and Victoria would like to split any money raised, equally, to Women’s Aid, Women's Aid is the national domestic violence charity working to end violence against women and children, www.womensaid.org.uk, Domestic Abuse Campaigner Rachel William’s charity SUTDA (Stand Up To Domestic Abuse) https://sutda.org/ and Women Out West, a women’s centre in Cumbria whose mission is to empower all women to reach their full potential. www.womenoutwest.co.uk
Victoria has worked with Women’s Aid and the Ministry Of Justice on the Harms report and is currently still working with Women’s Aid to find solutions to find justice for women and children in light of the failing family Court system
Rachel Williams has supported Victoria for over 2 years now, Rachel Williams speaks of Victoria’s case: “I am aware of a case in Cumbria and have been supporting the lady for over two years. It is a shocking case which we shouldn’t even be having to bring this out in the media. This should have been dealt with properly, by a Judge, with specialist training in domestic abuse skills. This would have given that Judge an insight to the horrors that this victim has faced by her perpetrator and sadly now by those who are meant to protect her.”
Rachel is an Ambassador for the Freedom Programme, Patron for SEEdS Wales and a Safelives Pioneer. She campaigns tirelessly and is committed to ending domestic abuse, her ambition includes to set up the ‘House that Jack built’, a children and young person’s refuge and place of safety, in memory of her son.
Rachel Holliday FRSA, founder of Women Out West has supported Victoria for 18 months now “When we opened Women Out West last year, I had no idea of the damaging effect the Family Court system was having on so many women in our Community. Victoria is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when we stand together to tackle injustices. Victoria stands for not just her own lived experience, but thousands of other Domestic Abuse survivors in the UK.”
HOW YOU CAN HELP-
Please donate
Please email your MP and ask them to lobby Alex Chalk, Justice Minister, in light of the Family Court Review for redress on these horrific cases where children are being sent to unsafe contact or they have been removed from the victim to the perpetrator.
