My Mission Trip 2017

Hello everyone it's Jessica again and I just want to start off by thanking you all for taking a moment to watch my video and read my post. For those of you that know me you know that last year I joined forces with As One Charity and went on my very first life changing mission trip. Well this year with the help of you all I will be heading back with so much more to impart and pour out into the lives of these children!!
As One Charity is an organization that is so near and dear to my heart! It was created back in 2010 by an amazing woman and my dear friend Brandy Zeigler. Over the years I have watched her work tirelessly and selflessly to bring communities together to meet the needs of those communities. There is literally no community that we wont go into, and no need that we will overlook. I count it a huge privledge to be able to serve alongside the volunteers of As One. We are truly all just a group of people fully committed to standing in the gaps, serving wholeheartedly, and helping to meet the needs of others.
During our time this August at Ulster Springs Primary School in Trelawny, Jamaica we will be hosting our very own Summer Arts Camp!! During our week long camp we will be teaching the students art, creative writing, spanish, computer literacy, dance, music, and singing. Students will be allowed to sign up for 4 classes of their liking and at the completion of the week we will host an event for the town where the children get to showcase all that they have learned. On top of that we will be supplying each student with a backpack full of school supplies so that they have the necessary tools for success on their upcoming school year.
I personally will be heading the homeroom class. In my class I will be teaching the children different tools for success. It is so important to learn skills that promote self confidence, organization, and planning. So I will be teaching the children how to journal, set goals, and positive self talk. We as an organization already see the value in the lives of these children and this community so we just want to make sure they see it in themselves.
So what I am asking of you all is to sow into my purpose by planting a seed of any amount to help me reach my goal. I am looking to raise $1,850 by August 1st, 2017 to assist in covering my airfare, lodging, food, and other expenses while I am in Trelawny. It would be my pleasure to stand alongside As One Charity once again to give of myself, knowledges, resources, love , purpose, and gifts to a community who is so deserving!
