Jeannie's Journey

Our dear, sweet Jeannie has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.

Even though her diagnosis is overwhelming, in true Jeannie style, she is taking this as the incredibly kind, giving person she is. She said, “Why me? Why NOT me? Would you want this for a 5-year-old child instead?” She also said that she is at peace with her diagnosis as she is very close to her faith and her church.

She has gone through chemotherapy, but has just learned that it isn’t doing anything (there's been no shrinkage or removal).

However, she has qualified for a trial!! It’s at MD Anderson in Houston, and she expects to be there for at least a month for her initial treatments. She will soon learn about which expenses will be covered and which won’t. I’ve started this GoFundMe to make sure she can move forward without any concerns.

AND there is a group of very generous friends who have offered to MATCH up to $4,000! I am so very grateful to know so many truly amazing people.

We won’t have a definitive timeline as to how this all plays out. She could be with us for years (yes, please!), or this can all go sideways all too soon.
