I am a union carpenter, veteran intelligence analyst, former co-chair of Jobs with Justice, and a Bernie Sanders delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership poses a greater threat to the United States than any single piece of legislation in our short 200+ year history. It is sad that the TPP is being advanced by a Democratic President and that many leaders of organized labor are going along with it.
My primary reason for attending the DNC convention in Philadelphia is to join the push to oppose the TPP in the Democratic Platform. Hillary Clinton's people fought the initial proposal during the Orlando platform meetings.
The money raised here will help fund my trip to Philadelphia (we are staying in a modest Airbnb and sharing room space). If we are successful in raising more than that $1,500 I will start buying stickers and placards that read, "NO TPP."
I am an experienced organizer and will be pushing this issue in caucuses and on the convention floor, along with my sisters and brothers who share the cause for a better world.
I need to raise these funds by July 23rd. I will be making an order for the TPP stickers/placards a week earlier. The early money will relieve some stress of purchasing our materials.
I appreciate any/all support that is offered to this cause.
