Help Me Help Babies Breathe-Zambia

I am incredibly honored to have been asked to join the Project Humanity team heading to Zambia... in two weeks!  As I prepare to attend nursing school in January, I have been offered the opportunity to support a highly trained labor and delivery nurse, Kay McInnes, as we will provide training to birth attendants in Zambia in neonatal resuscitation technique known as Helping Babies Breathe.  Statistics have shown that the HBB training and implementation have reduced neonatal mortality rates in resource-restricted birthing environments by as much as 47%!

I was initially hesitant to accept the position as my family has not prepared for this financial expense (and I only have two weeks to prepare).  The trip and the childcare costs that we will incur is in excess of $4000.  Asking for help is not generally something that I am good at, but I recognize that I really do need your help.  I am humbly asking for your contributions to help defray the costs of this trip to Zambia as I follow a call to step forward in service to mothers and their newborns.
