A WARM WINTER FOR ALL
For some of us winters are cozy times, snuggled up in a warm blanket, sipping on a hot tea in front of a chimney or reading a good book.
For others winters are harsh and bleak, especially if there is no wood-fire to heat up the home.
Elena is a single mother raising 4 children in rural Moldova. Her eldest is 9 years old and has learning disabilities. She refuses to go to school because other children make fun of her also because she is poor.
The smallest is 4 months old and was born prematurely. She were recently admitted to Chisinau hospital and this is where I met them.
They no longer have a home and so the family stays with a host family. However due to the shortcomings, the children risk to be placed into state homes . Their mother is desperate to make ends meet to be able to keep her kids this winter.
Every day the children gather branches to heat the house, to cook, but it is already too cold and the frost gets to their bones.
WE ARE URGENTLY APPEALING FOR FIRE WOOD SUPPLY, other food supplies as well as milk powder for the baby.
This is only one case, among 10 other families of single mums we are trying to help.
A family needs about 300 euros to cover the woods for heating for a whole winter.
No child should go cold or hungry this winter!
Please help us help them, buy sharing this cause with friends and family.
