Help Me Graduate!

Hi my name is Jasmine Randle, I write and direct under J. Nicole. I am an award-winning director, obtaining my MFA at DePaul University in the film & TV directing program, and I need your help. I need to raise $4,800 for my thesis film, Covert. The money raised will go towards food for a five-day production, and paying my actors.

Covert is a short drama inspired by true events that took place in my life as I navigated this world as a black woman. The film spotlights generational upbringing, racism, trauma, identity, and classism. Issues that happen on the day-to-day. Issues that are difficult to navigate.

As I wrote this script I started to realize that this wasn't just my thesis; or completely about my healing, but about others who share similar stories, and who have yet to find their voice. I have been encouraged and inspired through the years of writing Covert by so many who have faced similar situations that Covert touches on that it inspires me to continuously step out of my comfort zone to get this film made.

My thesis film is like my dissertation, I have to present and defend my film to graduate with my MFA in film & TV directing. This has been a long journey to get to this moment, and I wouldn't change a thing about what I have experienced along the way. Because of my experiences, I have been able to help others along the way.
