A Home for the Chicas Latinas

Tax deductible
Chicas Latinas de Sacramento is Sacramento’s premier Latina 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and is comprised of over 200 members (of all ages and from many different backgrounds) who are devoted to supporting our people, the organizations which serve, and the community.

Our mission is to give back to our community by utilizing our people and our culture to educate, inspire, and lead.

We believe that by creating volunteer and leadership opportunities in our community which encourage and promote a culture of Latina volunteerism, philanthropy, and civic engagement, we'll be able to reach our vision...

Our vision is to make a positive impact in both the Latin and Sacramento community by improving, connecting and embracing our culture and the community in which we call our home.

Chicas Latinas de Sacramento is a volunteer cultivation nonprofit which provides on-going volunteer and community support to organizations such as Weave Inc., The Sacramento Homeless Connect, Rebuilding Together Sacramento, Sacramento Crisis Nursery, feeding the homeless and more. We host two annual community drives: a bra drive for homeless women in April and a back-to-school shoe drive for a local elementary school in need.

We collected over 500 NEW pairs of shoes and raised over $500 for the children of Woodbine Elementary!!! This year we were able to provide EVERY child at Woodbine with a new pair of shoes.

Why we're asking. Chicas Latinas de Sacramento is 100% volunteer and donation powered! We have existed and gave in the Sacramento community for nearly 7 years without funding. Over the years our volunteer-base has grown, the need in the community for volunteers and drives have grown, and our need for a home has also grown. Chicas Latinas needs an space, to meet, work, and store our belongings in - if we are to grow and continue our philanthropy work in the community.

What we're asking for donations so we can rent an office space! A place to call our home, to work out of, and to host resources from.

Latina philanthropy leads to civic engagement, and thus a path of Latina leadership. This is where change happens. It happens with us: Chicas Latinas of Sacramento, as we feed the homeless, volunteer at women’s shelters, tuck-in children for their naps at crisis shelters, rebuild homes for vets, counsel victims of assault, work with the youth… and support each other on our journey of giving and leading.

We invite you to learn more about our activities and community leadership on Facebook and our blog .
