WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW
My name is Bruce Gordon residing in Long Island,N.Y since 1984. I met my wife Carmen-Garcia in Carolina, Puerto Rico. We have Two adult children My wife's family of origin as well as extended family reside in Carolina , Puerto Rico. The island is currently in a state of emergency as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
Maria is the worst storm to hit PR since 1928, to say that it has devastated the island is an understatement.
Power may not be restored for 6 months or longer.
Up To 100% of island without electrical power.
Most if not all of the Island is without fresh water supply or no water at all (pumping stations destroyed or flooded).
Cellular data and internet service down or minimum service.
Government's essential services may take months to restore.
Food and essential items may take time to re-stock in warehouses.Medication and health care is already limited.
GDP is dependent on tourism. This will already strain the economy dramatically as Puerto Rico is already financially strapped and in massive debt.
Campeche,Carolina Community
Our family and extended family has been living in Campeche,Carolina, PR for 6 Generations on the same plot of land . This is a strong, independent, proud large family with ties to the comminuty for a long time.
WHAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR:
100% of all funds raised will go to the residents of the Campeche communiity . I am looking to Schedual a flight as soon as Jet Blue commercial flights resume. All transportation and meals and ancillary expenses WILL NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE GO FUND ME DONATIONS. We are helping our family financially and will continue to do so moving forward for the next several months and beyond. Thankfully, most of our immediate family members sustained minor structural damages to their homes and are grateful for that. However, the entire commuinty is without gas, electric, and water as they contend with a limited infrastructure.
