Help us Spay/Neuter 100 more cats to Prevent Unwanted & Abandoned Kittens & Cats from a Grim Future
Twenty frightened house cats were suddenly dumped outside in the deep of winter after their owner passed away. Five volunteers refused to walk away. That single rescue changed everything.
With no food, shelter or medical care, these cats faced a harsh and uncertain future. Five volunteers stepped in because no one else did. What began as an emergency effort quickly revealed a much larger problem in our community.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we raised $3,000 and all 20 cats from that first crises colony were spayed or neutered and vaccinated!!
We also discovered that this colony was not the only one in great need.
We've identified over 20 unmanaged cat colonies throughout our area, with multiple litters subjecting kittens born into hunger, disease, and exposure. Without intervention, the sad cycle continues.
Rescue Paws, is a volunteer Trap-Spay-Neuter-Release (TSNR) effort to help identify, trap, and spay/neuter and release abandoned and feral cats to break the perpetuating a sad cycle of multiple births of sick and unwanted kittens.
In just five months, Rescue Paws has accomplished the following:
More than 70 cats spayed or neutered, vaccinated and wormed.
More than 400 unwanted kittens prevented.
Every dollar spent directly and only on veterinary care.
We can do more thanks to a new partnership that makes the cost and scheduling more predictable.
We've formed an incredible partnership with a new high-volume spay/neuter clinic under the leadership of Dr. Jodi Markel, who supports our work, and has offered us an incredible package.
For just $70/cat, each will receive the following:
1. Spay or neuter surgery
2. Rabies vaccination
3. FVRCP vaccination
4. Ear tip and tattoo for identification
5. Flea, tick, ear mite, and deworming treatment
For anyone that has had these services done for their own cats, you know that such a package would normally be close to $200 (or even more in some locations).
Rescue Paws is powered entirely by volunteers. No one receives a salary. Every donated dollar goes directly toward veterinary care, and we post our veterinary receipts online so donors can see exactly how their generous gifts are used.
Every day we delay, more kittens are born into lives of hunger and suffering. Together we can continue to change that. We’ve helped nearly 70 cats so far, preventing over 400 unwanted kittens; please help us reach our goal of reaching 100 more cats & kittens.
Whether you can give $10, $25 or virtually “adopt” one full cat procedure for $70, or two cats for $140, every gift has an immediate impact.
Please share this campaign with your family and friends. Every share helps us reach another person who cares.
Thank you for helping us create a more compassionate future – one cat and one kitten at a time.
