Help To Feed Displaced People in Tigray

There is an urgent need to help feed thousands of displaced people in Tigray, Northern Ethiopia!
We have started this GoFundMe because of the humanitarian crisis as a result of the war in Tigray, located in Northern Ethiopia, that started in November of 2020. As of February 2021, and reported by BBC, 2+ million innocent civilians including women and children have been displaced. They are being forced to move towards larger cities to survive. According to UNHCR, as of January 18th, 2020, over 60,000+ Tigrayans have fled to Sudan for a refuge of which 27% are children, 90% of those children are unaccompanied and without parents. Refugees have shared harrowing accounts of escaping airstrikes, machete killings, rape and are in constant fear for their lives. The UNHRC has called for an immediate investigation for possible war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Currently, 4.5 million people need emergency food assistance. In our hometown Adwa, it is reported that over 120,000 people have left their homes, and surrounding villages to flee to Adwa city to find shelter in school facilities. These people are in urgent need of food, clean water, medical care, and basic necessities.
With this GoFundMe page, we want to bring desperately needed food and clean water to displaced people. We are in constant communication with local community leaders who have urged for foreign humanitarian aid. These community leaders will provide accountability with photos and videos to document how food, water, and other basic needs are supplied with your donation. The visual material will give you the opportunity to share its content with friends and family to increase awareness.
