Update***The insurance company stopped paying me benefits in May 2019. I had already lost my apartment and was trying to get back on my feet but they have not paid me since, wrongfully I should add. They set me up with one of their doctors, who isn't even licensed in Texas, who gave me a 0% impairment rating! I got an alternate certification done by a doctor that wasn't theirs who said I DO have an impairment and it is NOT 0%! These insurance companies commit so much fraud!!..anyway please read below.
Hi everyone, My name is Michelle Quinones. I was injured while working at Amazon and they basically put me through hell.
In the process of waiting for treatment, that of course kept getting denied, I've lost everything I worked so hard for. I lost my apartment, currently about to surrender my car since I can't afford the insurance, I had to sell all my stuff to make ends meet, I had no money for food because of bills, I have tons of debt now, I missed 3 semesters of school at this point but I want to go back this summer, and I developed severe anxiety and depression from this.
My injury date is 11/19/17 and it took 15 months to FINALLY get surgery. Now I am facing several more weeks of physical therapy and am hoping to be able to get back into school by this summer to make up for some lost time. Amazon and their insurance company put me through hell. So much more was affected in this than just an injured body part. My whole life was affected. I need help right now with my bills and finances. I don't get much from workers comp plus they still take out 25% from attorney fees I still owe. So my money goes to paying bills but I am unable to make a lot of payments on time. I also have a dog that I need to be able to feed and take care of since he requires so much attention.
So as you can see, its been a long 17 months. I lost everything. I just need some financial help so that I can start getting back on my feet but its hard because bills keep piling up and you know there is always something else happening that needs to get paid or taken care of like my phone breaking AGAIN. I would also like to be able to go back to school by this summer if possible.
