Help a Friend in Debt

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Guy.  Those who know me know that I don't ask for help unless it's desperately needed, so please understand that it is desperately needed in this case.

A very dear person in my life has been struggling for a long time.  The struggle is one many of us have faced, poverty, and the struggle is very real.  Most of the time it could be manageable, but at some point, an inevitable unforeseen circumstance occurs and shoves us into a depth of poverty that removes our humanity and pushes us to the brink of our capacity to endure.

This dear friend, whose identity cannot be revealed here for privacy (hence the cute photo of her hands holding her handsome kitty), was struggling with poverty until her abusive long-term relationship left her with an unmanageable amount of bills.  Instead of living paycheck to paycheck, she is now living behind her paychecks, putting in jeopardy her essential services.  Her power and gas services are very likely to be shut down indefinitely, until she pays off the balance.  To lose heat and power during such a cold winter is very dangerous.

Her health, both physical and mental, is detereorating because she literally cannot afford proper nutritional meals, and cannot afford any activities that might keep her mind from devouring itself with depression.  She cannot afford the copays for doctor's visits, nor can she afford to purchase healthy groceries.

Her car has broken down twice, taking any savings that had accrued.  I and my partner even paid for a significant chunk of one of those repairs, and have tried to help with whatever labor we can to make it driveable.

She makes enough income to not qualify for public assistance programs, but not enough money to survive in anything better than abject poverty.

Long story short, we are at a tipping point that is bordering on life-threatening.   When life is stripped from you by this inhumane system we all live by, there is not much to keep one going.

She is not one for charity.  I'm doing this without her knowledge, and certainly without her blessing.  I understand that giving money to a person who is unidentified is a risk, but I hope it's a risk you're willing to take.  I identify myself for accountability.  Those who know me, know that this call for action and help is legitimate.  Women all too often are left in this state of poverty by the men they trust, because our society makes it all too easy for men to destroy lives and then walk away.  Most of my life I've tried my best to combat the results of these men, and this situation is no different.

The sooner we get funding, the sooner we can help her get some hope, and get back on her feet.  The money will be used for the following:

- Overdue power & gas bills - Roughly $1100
- Rent (which will soon be raised)
- An emergency car repair fund
- Actual healthy groceries
- Healthcare for proper doctor's visit
- Healthcare for her cats

The $2500 goal will not save her from poverty.  It will only make it more bearable for the time being.  If you believe in helping women who have been victims of abuse and assault, please consider donating to this cause.

Thank you.
