Happy and I Know It

Friends, our beloved James “Happy” Smith is facing a fight with cancer and needs our help. A lymphoma has been found near his pancreas and he has begun an aggressive oncology protocol that will render him unable to work for some time, perhaps through the end of the year. Now is not the time for sorrow, though; it is time for action. His physicians have indicated that there is good reason for hope; he’s got a pretty good shot at beating this, but anxiety about very pressing financial concerns isn’t helping his health. Whether a Purple, an ATO, a Birmingham friend, or part of the Smith clan, we have all been lifted at one time or another by his easy smile, his quick wit, his loyalty and his love; let’s rally around our dear Happy and show him all the love he so richly deserves.
