Veronica’s Family- Mother’s split from her family

A single mother  who has been in our country now for 20 years and is near and dear to me was driving to work last Thursday 10/24 when she was pulled over for an illegal u-turn. Instead of being ticketed, the officer contacted immigration services and she was taken by ICE and detained. This is a wonderful, hardworking, honest, ethical woman whose 4 children are American born.  She has no criminal record, is a contributing member of society and has been in this country for over 2 decades. She and her children are very active in their church spending essentially every single weekend volunteering at their church with youth groups, caring for children, singing in the choir and teaching music as they are incredibly talented & self taught musicians.  They are truly a beautiful family and she has truly embraced what she hoped would be the American dream. She just had her first grand daughter who will be 2nd generation born in America. She has worked so hard to rise above and has now been ripped from her family. She is the sole bread winner for her children. Sadly, they were victims of domestic violence yet they have risen above. She was so proud to be able to send her first child to College so that she could have a better future. She had only been there 1 month before receiving this devastating news and withdrew immediately to come home and help her family. Please, If you find that you are in any situation to help financially, please consider donating.  The first $2,500 will go towards securing a lawyer . We have been in touch with an excellent immigration lawyer who feels confident and hopeful. However, the family does not have enough money. Additionally there will be a bail set anywhere from 1500-5k. For a single mother with children, this alone could feel so incredibly difficult to raise.  Now take away their mother and it could feel impossible. I feel blessed to have encountered some amazing people that are helping and hope to continue raising more. I will continue updating as i receive more information.
