Foster Home for 6 Teens

Teens in foster care are at high risk. There are very few families willing to take on the risk of caring for them, so there is a serious shortage of beds in the foster care system. We want to give them a safe place to finish the process of becoming self-sufficient, whether that means finishing high school or a GED, or learning to work to support themselves.

To do this, we (John and Gabriella) will purchase this three-family house, which will soon be called home to 6 foster teens and the adult support necessary to care for them.  We have been foster parents ourselves, of ages ranging from 15 to 20, for over 16 years, and were youth pastors before that. Because we understand teens, we have been able to really help those that we worked with. Now we want to expand our support so we can reach even more adolescents in similar circumstances.

The house is in a good neighborhood between a bus route and a community playground. We would love your help to purchase, fix up and furnish it, so we can make it into a supportive home for these young people, many of whom haven't had the support they need to succeed.

We would love for you to join us in this amazing and unique vision to bring hope to youth in crisis. It has been wonderful seeing the success of most of our own foster teens. Against the odds, most of them have stable jobs and apartments, and some are supporting families of their own. Help us make this vision a reality so we can provide many more teens in the foster system with the support they need to succeed for years to come.
