One of the greatest causes of poverty in Africa is also the most overlooked- WATER. While many people in the developed world take clean drinking water for granted. 663 million people globally lack access to safe water supply sources. 350 million people in Africa alone affected everyday. In Ghana, close to 6 million people (nearly 22 percent) rely on surface water to meet their daily water needs, leaving them vulnerable to water-related illness, disease and DEATH. 67 percent of Ghanaians lack access to quality sanitation or are entirely without toilet facilities.
Access to clean water is a daily and crippling challenge. Finding water is a challenge for young girls, moms and sons. Without water you can't grow food, you can't build housing, you can't stay healthy, you can't stay in school and you can't work. Water is the foundation of all development.

At Green Book Travel, we understand how clean and accessible water is often a insurmountable obstacle and a very serious crisis. We are humbly grateful to announce that we have a opportunity to build a water borehole which will bring water to our adopted village. Globally, 1 in 9 people have no access to clean water. In the communities we partnered to serve, it's 9 out of 9.

Our mission is to reach our fundraising goal by December so that we can start drilling during our visit. It's amazing how a relatively small donation can make such a dramatic difference in so many lives. For an average donation of $35 per person we can reach our goal!
