Brooke Foster's Story "Fight Like Brooke" We need your Prayers, Love and Faith to help Brooke continue to fight for her life she is in Stage 4 Osteosarcoma. Update 1/9/2015

Brooke is now in Los Angeles, California undergoing an experimental treatment for Osteosarcoma and other rare cancers. Dr. Birch who is known as the "God Father" of Hyperthermia treatment is now helping and treating Brooke. Brooke's cancer took a turn for the worst right before Christmas this year and another tumor appeared above her right knee the size of a softball. She is had new scans and after the doctor saw them he told John they had to get started right away on Hyperthermia and Radiation treatment. On the 6th of January they started new scans of Brooke's body to see the extent of the cancer. We are praying for good news!! In the mean time the cost of the treatment is NOT covered by John's insurance and so he is asking from friends and friends of friends to help with the cost by donating anything!!

We are in the planning stages of a few benefits and one is on February 1st at the Rocket Cafe in Waxahachie. The expenses are incurring at a rapid rate with doctors, scans, treatment, medicine, supplements and organic food for Brooke's specific diet. This doesn't include the air fare, cost of apartment and other necessities both in LA, CA and in Waxahachie, TX. We ask that you join the fight with us to help Brooke with her treatment and fight for a cure! Only 5% of the money raised for cancer research is given to Children Cancer and there is only a 30% survival rate for kids with Osteosarcoma. John has raised Brooke since she was a small child and she is his world...Can you imagine your child being sick and feeling so helpless that you search the world for a cure!!

We ask for you to send what you can and if you prefer to mail it you can at Brooke Foster c/o John Foster

AUGUST 2014

Brooke recently under went surgery to remove the tumor from her right leg; where they did a bone graft of10cm and replaced it with a cadaver bone, plate and screws.

BROOKE'S INITIAL DIAGNOSIS

Brooke, who just turned 16 in March is battling a very aggressive childhood cancer "Osteosarcoma." She has a"VERY RARE" case of Osteosarcoma that started in her right leg and can metastasize in other parts of the body.  She was 1st diagnosed in February after she went thru a very big growth spurt. She complained to her dad she felt a knot right above her knee and it was hurting to where she couldn't hardly walk. Brooke under went the usual x-rays, MRI and Bone Scan at Children's Hospital in Dallas, after her pediatrician saw her. For more information on Osteosarcoma and its symptoms, please see the Osteosarcoma organization website.

When the biopsy was sent off to the Mayo Clinic they couldn't tell right away what type of cancer Brooke had and if it was malignant or benign. Many researchers and doctors across the country were consulted to actually find the correct diagnosis. John, Brooke and her family awaited patiently and tried to resume a normal life, but it wasn't normal at all!

The doctors told John, his daughter; Brooke had one of the worse cases of Childhood cancers today and it was in Stage 4. John couldn't believe his ears his "baby girl" had cancer and she is 1 out of 200,000 girls who can get this type of cancer which occurs mostly in males after a growth spurt. He didn't know how to tell Brooke so he waited to find out all he could be for relaying the news to her.He found out what type of treatment she had to have, how long the treatment would be, how aggressive it was to prepare her the best he could!

ABOUT BROOKE FOSTER

Brooke was raised in Waxahachie were John(her father) grew up.

He rode in the rodeo(until injuried leg), building custome homes; and now has a flooring business.

Brooke lost her grandmother 2 years ago. Then just 3 months ago, John and Brooke lost the only other mother figure that Brooke had as a child, his aunt died of gallbladder cancer 3 months after being diagnosed. This was devastating for both of them as they were very close to her.

Brooke was receiving very aggressive chemotherapy at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, and has gone thru a number of scans which will be sent back to the Mayo Clinic to see if the chemotherapy has helped at all. She is a fighter and tries to put on a good face for everyone.

She is a normal teenager who enjoys hanging out with her friends going to football games, movies and dances. Just a couple of weeks before Brooke's 16th birthday in March; she found out she had Osteosarcoma; she was so looking forward to getting her driver's license, well that has been put on hold for the moment.

Brooke also enjoys playing her guitar and loves music. Her favorite singer is #TaylorSwift; she would really love to see her in concert one day!  Her favorite color is Turquoise so if you see ribbons on here with yellow and turquoise on here or other sites, you know why! She is loved very much by her father, older sister and brother; and many friends and strangers that have generously contributed for her "Fight Like Brooke" Campaign!! We have thrown several charity benefits but the money is mostly gone due to her accruing cost everyday!

PLEASE HELP HER FIGHT!!

Many people across the DFW metropolis area and country continue to pray for her everyday; telling her how brave she is and to continue her fight "No One Fights Alone!"  Her smile is contagious, a beautiful heart, and is smart too; as you can see in her picture.

We want to be able to help Brooke and her family with the medical bills that are accruing quickly: hospital visits, medications which he is paying out of pocket for and his insurance "Assurance" was only paying $1000 for her chemotherapy treatments. We also would like to help with gas for trips from Waxahachie to Dallas to hospital where he has a custom flooring business.

John leaves the hospital every morning at 6:45a.m. to go to work and then heads back to the hospital to be there in time for the evening and never leaving Brooke alone at night. Her older sister Brittney, and brother switch shifts everyday so their father can continue to run his business.

There are so many expenses as you know with just a general hospital visit to the ER can be expensive let alone a visit to the emergency room and hospital stay, bone graft surgery, physical therapy, vaccines and other alternative treatments. We ask you to please open your heart and donate what you can to her cause! There are many benefits being organized and we will post them on her Facebook page "Fight Like Brooke Against Osteosarcoma."

We believe and have faith with your help she will get better! Thank you in advance for you generous contribution that means so much to her family and please continue to pray for Brook
