FU - United For Puerto Rico

To all Fairfield University students and Alumni, My name is Christian Colón and I am currently a Junior at Fairfield in the Dolan School of Business. The reason why I am starting this GoFundMe is to bring awareness to the tragedy that has occurred in Puerto Rico. As we all know, states within our country like Texas, Louisiana, and Florida were severely affected by Hurricane Harvey. Puerto Rico was devastated by not one, but two hurricanes, Irma and Maria. The beautiful island of Puerto Rico is left without power entirely - and could maybe be so for months. I and others have family members who we cannot even contact to ensure that they’re safe. If you have watched/read the news regarding the hurricanes, they’re using the word “destroyed” to describe the state Puerto Rico is currently in right now. The money raised in this GoFundMe will directly go to UnitedForPuertoRico.com. I have set the goal at $5,000 dollars because hopefully if roughly every current student donates $1 we can collectively make a difference. $5000 might not seem like a lot, but for people that are left with absolutely nothing, it means everything.
