Donation protected
Emily has another surgery scheduled. This is her 108th surgery! Emily has been through so much! She is 9 years old and has come close to leaving us 10 times. Lately, Emily has been very ill with Pneumonia, Flu, Bronchitis
and MRSA in her lungs. She gets ill very easily..she has a very low immunity and lungs that are weak and scarred from chronic pneumonia.
We will return to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for this surgery April 23-30, 2016.
During this trip, she has many things scheduled.
***Her doctors will be doing a Triple Endoscopy.. Trachea and Esophageal scope and GI too (to try to figure out why Emily periodically has blood in her stomach) Pulmonology will be doing a Bronchial Lavage/Flush and Biopsy with a flex scope(flexable camera) and ENT will be doing a rigid scope (stiff camera) to check Emily's Laryngeal Cleft repair and the overall health of Emily's throat... ,
***an MRI of her entire spine (to look for Neorogenic Bladder),
***an OPMS and Video Swallow study(checking the status of her aspirating... Hopefully it has finally stopped!!)
***and clinic doctor appointments....
Gonna be a long week ....Our travel is long, hard, exhausting and expensive on the road. We really appreciate any and all support.
Emily is the strongest, bravest, happiest little lady you will ever meet. She smiles through her pain and tears. Emily is silly and loves to make people laugh and feel happy. She changes all who meet her.
