About the Campaign:
Emergency Fund To Empower Asylum Seeking (College Educated) Women is a fundraising campaign which aims to raise USD$15000 (approx. AUD$20000) for emergency fund to support an estimated 150 female university students and alumnae, as well as approximately 200 of their family members.
This emergency fund will be used to assist vulnerable refugee women from a certain university and their families with access to refugee registration, finance visa application, housing and daily expenditure after they arrive in Pakistan and third countries. This will allow to provide approximately USD $60 per person each month for food and accommodation, in the country they will seek asylum in.
While details cannot be shared at the moment since these women are currently at risk in their home country, we understand that people may wonder who they are, as well as who we are, how we can be trusted, and what is our connection to these women, so here is what can we share:
a) The campaign organizers and volunteers know these women personally and are in direct contact with them.
b) These women have shown tremendous leadership in human rights and development in their home country. Their work, background, experience, and ethnicity are putting them at risk.
c) These women have international experiences and education which will lead them to contribute significantly to their host country. These very same assets are also part of what is putting them at risk.
We have already launched a volunteer coalition to provide emergency support toward their evacuation and immediate support before they can be connected to larger NGOs and UN agencies.
Please note: The women and families we are supporting through this campaign have expressed their desire to relocate and remain anonymous given the security situation in their home country. We are reserving the details of this group of women and their families to protect their safety.
The campaign is in AUD, as this allows the campaign organizers and other volunteers to quickly access a dedicated bank account and easily transfer money to and from multiple countries.

All donations will go directly to our support network to help these vulnerable women and their families affected by this crisis. A coalition of trusted volunteers will distribute funds based on the needs of the target group. We will deliver periodic updates on how the funds are being deployed and results to date.

We are a global coalition of volunteers from diverse backgrounds who aim to support vulnerable educated women and their families in this moment of crisis.
On-going effort by the organizers:
1. Seek evacuation support and relocate the 150 women and their families to safe countries. (Some 130 have so far been evacuated from their home country, but only a very few with families, and many still face an uncertain future.)
2. Raise funds and provide immediate resettlement support, including refugee registration, visa applications and housing.
3. Collect resources and contacts that will help connect this community to funding as well as legal services for their viable near-future.
