Midwives for Haiti Service

We are traveling to Haiti with Philadelphia University to volunteer for the mobile prenatal clinic and assist in training Haitian midwives.

We will be working with Midwives for Haiti, a small but impressive non profit that works to reduce maternal mortality by training midwives locally. Midwives For Haiti offers education and training in prenatal care and skilled birth assistance to Haitian nurses, so that they may better serve their fellow Haitian sisters, who too frequently are lost or lose their newborns in childbirth without such care. The earthquake in January 2010 devastated parts of this beloved country and her people. This great loss in qualified medical professionals and infrastructure has made the work of Midwives For Haiti even more necessary.

we will be traveling December 28, 2013- January 11, 2014 to provide continuing education for midwives. We greatly appreciate any donations to support our work with Midwives for Haiti.
