An amazing mother, friend and children’s yoga instructor, Kathleen Evered is always the first person to help anyone in need. Due to her illness and a complete loss of earnings while undergoing treatment, she is now in the position of needing help herself. It’s been really hard for Kathleen to reach out for assistance, so her friends and family have come together to form DreamTeam Kathleen in hopes that those who know her and those who learn about her might be touched by her story and do whatever they can to help her and her family through this very difficult time.
Kathleen is the single mother of 5 beautiful children, 3 of which are adopted and have special needs. She was diagnosed with breast cancer this spring and had a double mastectomy. During her stay in the hospital she contracted a serious infection which caused a delay in her treatment. After weeks of healing from her infection, Kathleen learned that her cancer has metastasized, however she has an excellent treatment plan that we feel very positive about. She is receiving this treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Basking Ridge NJ.
While recuperating from her surgery Kathleen unexpectedly had to secure a new rental for her family to move into. The increasing struggles have become very overwhelming for her as she tries to stay strong and care for her children while fighting this disease. Kathleen needs assistance with meals, childcare, housework, medical costs not covered by insurance, copays, moving costs, and transportation to and from her chemo treatments.
It takes a village.
Kathleen is a warm and caring person who lifts the sprits of all who know her. She is a warrior woman with incredible strength, but right now she is facing an uphill battle and really needs our help. We can't fight the cancer for Kathleen, but we can come together to help lessen the load of all the financial hardship this illness is causing her. Each and every donation will go towards easing this burden, and will be appreciated more than you could possibly know.
