Category 5 Hurricane Maria made landfall on Dominica on the evening of Sept. 18th. The damages from wind and rainfall have been unimaginable and catastrophic. Bridges, homes, and hospitals have been damaged and need major repairs. Injuries and possible deaths are being anticipated. As in the words of Prime Minister Skerrit, "We will need help, my friend, we will need help of all kinds."
Reality Speaks, a nonprofit organization founded by RUSM alum Dr. Chinyere Okpaleke, and current students of RUSM are calling on the help of everyone who has any relation to the beautiful island of Dominica. This includes Ross University School of Medicine alumni, students, families, and friends; tourists, and anyone who is willing to assist in the relief of the "Nature Isle." Many basic necessities such as water, food, and toiletries have become essentials to survival. 100% of the funds raised will go towards the disaster relief in Dominica.
