PLEASE HELP DEANNA FIND/REPLACE HER HOME

My friend Deanna

Hey everyone! Please keep reading...this is IMPORTANT to me....

First, if she knew I was doing this she may not be super stoked because my friend pictured here never calls attention to herself and is always doing for others but never asks for help for herself.

The weekend before the Thomas fire started devastating our county, myself and a hand-full of friends finished helping Deanna move into her new home. A small, but very nice home on the hill. A place of her own finally on the West side, shared with a great couple who owned the land. Deanna was proud of her home, and being the minimalist she is, it was not a difficult move as she never acquires more than she needs, but the things she has are meaningful to her. She was grateful to us for helping her move and I personally was happy to give back to the very person who is responsible for getting my boys most of what they needed when I could not afford to buy their surf team accoutrements needed to be on the team. (She literally had donated to the boys *from friends of hers, brand new wet suits, 3 used surfboards, etc). Deanna is a giver.

On Tuesday, Dec 5th Deanna told me she, and the landowners lost their homes to the Thomas fire.

Deanna has become like a family member to our family. She would do anything at all for any of us and she has. I have spent more time with my friend lately & I worry about her. I know she won't, so I'm going to ask for help.

I mentioned before Deanna is a minimalist. Naturally, she does not have a 'need' for a lot. That being said, she likes what she likes, organic, healthy, good energy, quality-made things if she can acquire them. I am putting a list together for her and personally shopping for her to help. I cannot afford to buy her a lot and think if I could ask for donations from friends/family that would be most meaningful so she can buy the things that mean the most to her. Additionally, Deanna is looking for a home.

I am starting with a $100 donation from an anonymous donor. I will proudly accept (in Deanna's honor) any monetary donations as well as gift cards from Visa, Sockwa's (shoes in Oxnard), or even Lassen's & Whole Foods where she likes to do her grocery shopping.

Deanna does not keep up with social media but I recently informed her of this campaign. Needless to say, she is moved. Like I mentioned before, she wouldn't ask anyone for help but she truley needs it and I want to see my friend get back on her feet again.

PLEASE help me help my friend! If you have the means to give ANY amount, it will help get some of what she lost, everything.  My intentions are to help my friend get the necessary items for her home (when she can get one), better yet, help her get into a home however I can.

I know many of you, sadly, have similar stories. My heart goes out to everyone. I love our community so much and I know we will be okay if we help each other through it. I have personally been volunteering in Ventura and it warms my heart knowing people from all walks of life are coming together to help others in the community.

I thank you for taking your time to read this. I encourage you to give if you can. I give with my time because it's what I have and I am a better person for it... it puts life in perspective and reminds me how very lucky I am. When/if you donate please let me know if I can mention your name publicly.

Thank you for giving.

Amy
