On February 11th, 2016, Deandre Hobbs was 22 years old and full of life and hope for the future. He was a Missouri Western State University student majoring in Sports Management with a dream of opening up a youth community center in his native St. Louis, MO. He was an avid basketball player, loved to lift weights and enjoyed spending time with his large and loving family.
On the evening of February 12th, 2016, Deandre Hobb's life changed in an instant. He was the backseat passenger in a horrific car accident that sent him flying head-first into the windshield leaving him a paraplegic.
He has been at Mosaic Life Care since that evening but is now being transferred to the DePaul Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis.
This awesome family needs our help. They have had life stack up against them lately as Deandre's mom, Nicholette, is also recovering from brain surgery 3 months ago. Put your family in their shoes. It's overwhelming not only physically, mentally and emotionally, but also, of course, financially.
We are "gathering the troops" to help them financially pay for the rehab that Deandre desperately needs right now. The family would appreciate any help, and if you cannot help financially, then please keep this family in your prayers.

We are residents of St Joseph, MO. Ali has a friend named Kristy Weiberg who is a professor at MWSU and had Deandre in her class. She told Ali about Deandre's situation, and Ali felt compelled to act, so she went to the hospital and met Deandre and his family. She visited almost daily while he was at Mosaic. The funds raised will be withdrawn directly by Deandre's family into their checking account from GoFundMe and will be spent on his medical bills relating to his hospital stays and also to help with some home modifications needed.
