Help Bring D.C. Polish Bar to D.C.!

Getting my nails or hair done has always been something I've enjoyed. It is something small a woman can do alone or with friends that can improve her mood instantly. I've always lived by the mantra "If you look good, you feel good and when you feel good you do good (or well)." Living in Florida, New York, and North Carolina, I have always been able to find a salon to enjoy some "girl time" or even just some "me time". However, when I moved back to DC in 2008 a clean, chic, and contemporary salon was nowhere to be found. It was at this time, that I came up with the concept for DC Polish Bar and Boutique (DCP). I've spent the past 3 years cultivating the perfect plan. I've met with several small business counselors and even accountants to ensure that my plan would be a success. The time has come to make my dream a reality! As the saying goes, you have to spend money to make money. On my journey to bring DCP to life I have done both. Unfortunately, it is not enough and the aforementioned professionals I have spoken with say this is the time to reach out to family and friends in order to help bring my dream to fruition. Asking anyone for help is something that has never been easy for me so I am coming to you humbly asking for any assistance you can contribute. I am extremely grateful for any and everything that you may offer. No worries, I am a good business woman and I realize that to whom much is given, much is required. In the nature of this I have created a few ways to thank you for funding my business while simultaneously showing my gratitude. I have found the perfect location in the heart of the Shaw neighborhood. If you know anything about DC, then you know this historic neighborhood encompasses Howard University, the popular U street corridor, the DC convention center, and the historic Howard Theater. It is one of the hottest growing areas in the city right now and my plan is to be a part of this growth. I will be applying for grants and loans that will assist with additional funding, however any assistance received will go towards leasing towards start up costs. I've worked hard throughout the past few years to create a plan to ensure the success of DCP, however it has not been without the assistance of friends, family, and other supporters in the community. I'm asking for your continued support as I move towards the next step. Thank you all in advance for your assistance and for most importantly believing in me.
