Start Up Costs for NFP to Help Special Needs

My name is Lisa and I'm the founder of the new NFP, Courage Culture Club, an organization to help youth and adults with special needs / developmental disabilities have a meaningful place in communities. We are needing to raise the start-up costs for our summer venture in which we will be selling ice cream by Lake Ontario. Can you help us get started?

This is a win-win-win opportunity as it will provide opportunities to learn new skills for those of all abilities who will be hired. It helps them make meaningful connections and contributions to their community. And for the community, we are hoping that this will start to change perceptions about the capabilities of those with developmental disabilities when those in the community see these amazing people in action! As a society, we must change the narrative regarding the inclusion of people differently abled - and it starts with us supporting ideas and businesses similar to the Courage Culture Club.

We are so excited!!! ICE CREAM CONEctions is set to open up this summer 2023 by offering a variety of ice cream/gelato flavors, milk shakes and coffee. As the weather starts to cool off we will switch gears; the Courage Culture Club will find some community space where soups, pasta sauces, and pasta can be made and sold along with providing other opportunities for fun and learning.

Our mission is to deliver service and products exceptionally with a smile.

To start such a venture it takes a sizable amount of capital, which we need to raise. We are looking for funding for start-up costs of about $30,000 to make this business come to life, as this cause is very important and near to many hearts.

I have a daughter with special needs who loves ice cream and as employment opportunities are so hard, creating personal connections and ensuring individuals with special needs have a safe space to go to but also work at is so important. Governments offer limited funding to cover the cost of day programs. Few businesses provide learning and employment opportunities for those with developmental disabilities even though there is much these very special people can do. Society keeps many of them out of sight and in many cases out of mind. We all deserve the opportunities to participate and engage with our peers!
