Christina Martinez Hernandez was a beautiful young woman who is remembered for her love of life, her bright smile and her generous heart. She was fulfilling her dream to live in the United States when her life was cut short on August 31, 2015 by a hit and run driver in Breckenridge Colorado.
Breckenridge Woman Remembered Following Fatal Hit and Run Crash
This Gofundme is to honor Christina’s mission of helping her parents back in Mexico, who are blind and in poor health. Christina came to the U.S. just over a year ago and was living with her Aunt Julia and brother Sergio in Breckenridge at the time of the accident. Her brother Sergio has since returned to Mexico to care for his parents and we are hoping this Gofundme would also enable Sergio to return to the United States.
Christina was born on December 5, 1989, and like many young women juggled two jobs, one at Valdoro Mountain Lodge and the other at Blue Stag Saloon in Breckenridge. Her hard earned money was not to buy the latest fashions or to enjoy a rich night life as most women her age. Behind Christina’s infectious smile was a young woman very concerned about her parents wellbeing so she made it her mission to send money back to them in Posa Rica, Mexico. Family meant everything to Christina and she helped many family members in need, so we hope this Gofundme carries out Christina's mission to help her parents, Feliciano Martinez Rios and Micaela Hernandez Torrez, who along with other financial burdens, are in desperate need of a roof and windows for the small home Christina grew up in.
Friends and family will always remember Christina for her love of cooking, children, flowers, music and singing. Other hobbies included soccer and volleyball. All who knew Christina will forever miss her positive attitude and the joy it was to be in her presence. Christina will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known her.
