Center City Chamber Orchestra Concert on 1/4/2020

Donation protected
Hello from the leadership of the CCCO! We are currently raising funds to have our first concert of the 2019-2020 season, on January 4th, 2020, at Trinity Memorial Church/Trinity Center for Urban life in Center City Philadelphia. With your help, we will be able to have an even more amazing, inspiring, and special concert than we did last year!

The Center City Chamber Orchestra was an idea that became a reality in early 2018, through a chamber music concert held at the Philadelphia Ethical Society. The CCCO was able to get off the ground thanks to efforts by co-founders Davey Hiester, Marquise Bradley, Oleksandr Kashlyuk, and David Ortiz, in addition to assistance and guidance from Philadelphia-based music non-profit, Project 440.  Just months later in January 2019, we had our first full chamber orchestra concert at the Trinity Memorial Church/ Trinity Center for Urban Life in Philadelphia. Before the concert took place, we were featured on WHYY, you can read about that here! https://whyy.org/articles/philly-youth-making-their-own-way-in-the-classical-world/

While planning a concert, especially on the scale of an orchestra, there are many costs that incur. Your donation will help us in one or more of the following areas:

- Securing our venue, and paying the individuals who staff our concert
- Reimbursing musicians' travel to and from CCCO rehearsals and concert
- Providing food for musicians after rehearsals, as well as food at the concert (there will be lots!)
- Buying music that is not in the public domain (this allows us to diversify the repertoire that we perform)
- Printing programs and flyers, as well as paying an artist to design them
- Advertising this concert

If we surpass our goal, remaining funds will go toward...
- Paying for our membership with Fractured Atlas, a company with whom we are currently trying to establish a fiscal sponsorship
- The maintenance of our website
- Our next concert in June 2020!

Seeing our success as both a chamber orchestra and chamber music society, entirely made up of and administered by student-musicians from Philadelphia, we were eager to continue on with more exciting, engaging concerts, but we've faced several financial hardships in this pursuit. Unfortunately, we had to cancel a chamber orchestra concert that was planned for June 2019. As we are planning a very exciting chamber orchestra concert (and even more!) we are hoping to alleviate financial barriers that may prevent young people from coming together to make music. Thank you for your help, and we hope to see you on January 4th!
