Care 4 Calais - Refugee Camp October volunteering

On 5th October I will be travelling with a bicycle across the channel to Calais. From there I will be cycling to the refugee camp to volunteer for two weeks. I will be taking a guitar to teach music to the refugees, helping prepare meals, handing out clothes and sleeping bags and other donations as well as general help on the front line. 

This go fund me is to help with travel costs and accommodation as the charity do not offer this. I will be performing live streams and busking prior to my departure to help with these costs also. 

There are currently around 700 refugees living in and around Calais. They are sleeping rough in the worst conditions and are not allowed to even have tents for shelter from the elements.

Their sleeping bags and possessions are regularly confiscated by the police as, since the closure of the ‘Jungle’ camp in October 2016, the authorities are determined to prevent another permanent camp from reforming.
