An event designed to uplift and inspire a generation. Bilikiz Adebayo and Sheneya Wilson are walking examples of the results of collective support. Both graduated with MBA degrees from SUNY Oswego December 2016, while dedicating their extra time to uplift the minority community on their campus. They have been fortunate enough to have a sisterhood of friends there to uplift them when in need of guidance or peer mentorship. By starting this celebration, we have the opportunity to create this same type of supportive environment for other young women. By shinning a light on their achievements and spreading a positive image, we can break the negative stereotypes and create more positive role models to ensure that our Princesses turn into the next generation of Queens.
Cap' n Crown is our first event. It's purpose is to celebrate the young women who have graduated this past year and it will be held annually for years to come. Whether it's junior high, high school, college, or graduate school, it is a means for celebration. Our mission is to empower our fellow "sistahs" and provide for them the tools they need to empower other women.
The donations collected will be used to conduct the event. Raised funds will go towards the necessary supplies which include food, drinks, gifts, good music and the rental chairs and tables. By investing in this event, you are demonstrating your support for our future woman leaders and mothers. For us, this investment will help to create the positive and supportive environment catered to helping young women grow into their crowns. We’ve seen the impact this type of support has had in our lives and want to spread the positivity and help other women experience it as well. After all, we don't win until we all win!
