THIS YEAR, MAYBE MORE THAN ANY OF OUR PAST 25 YEARS IN DOING THIS, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT YEAR AND WE NEED YOUR HELP....
During the next month, our studios will be taking part in our annual “Thanksgiving Basket Brigade.” Our mission will be to deliver Thanksgiving dinners directly to needy families in Fayette, Coweta, Henry and surrounding areas!
A typical basket will include a turkey, bread, butter, beans, corn, cranberries, potatoes, gravy, pie, a roasting pan, and all other items necessary to make a fantastic dinner.
This year, our goal will be to provide 250-300 Thanksgiving baskets to local families who may otherwise do without on Thanksgiving!
We will accomplish this by organizing all our human and financial resources. This project will require the generosity of as many people as possible. We are counting on all of our students to participate in the Kick-a-thon. Each student has a Kick-a-thon sponsorship sheet in this packet. Each student should go to neighbors, friends and relatives to gain as many sponsors as they can (need to hurry you only have 3 – 4 weeks). Your goal is to have them sponsor you for each kick you perform in the kick-a-thon. If you are 7 and above your goal is to perform 1000 kicks (don’t worry, it will be easy), if you are 6 or under your goal is to perform 500 kicks (if you want, you can do more). If someone sponsors you .02/kick and you do 1000 kicks; that person will owe you $20.00. If they sponsor you .01/kick and you perform 1000 kicks; they will owe you $10.00. EVERYONE LAST YEAR WAS ABLE TO PERFORM ALL OF THEIR KICKS!
Parents – You can also help – there is a sheet in the your packet that allows you to sponsor families outright – please take this sheet and turn it in ASAP.
SUMMARY:
1. Our objective is to provide 250-300 Thanksgiving Basket Dinners to families who may otherwise do without. We will focus our efforts on the elderly and families with children.
2. Churches, Real Life Center and Helping In His Name give names to us.
3. The average cost per basket will be $40.00
4. Our goal is two-fold. First we wish to help local families, and, just as importantly, we will provide a firsthand giving experience to our students, especially the children.
