CBC - Annual Fundraiser (Maraton)

Tax deductible

In 2016 I went to a mission trip to the Dominican Republic and was able to serve in a community center whose Spanish acronym is CBC (Centro Bienestar Communitario) which translates to the wellness community center.

CBC provides services to 5 surrounding communities. They mostly serve victims of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, fatherless homes and extreme poverty. The services that are provided include free educational workshops to empower these young girls and women to develop and learn skills and trades that will give them a better opportunity to succeed without ever falling victims to these things again. The workshops, led by volunteers,  cover upholstery, carpentry, basic literacy, computer technology, culinary arts and sewing.  The people go through a three month certification program and graduate with these specific skills.

CBC also provides a food pantry to families in need. Because of the poverty of this region, there are families that will only get one meal a day, or may even go without eating for a day.  The CBC also provides child services. Every Sunday about 300 - 400 children from these 5 communities are gathered in the center and are provided with learning opportunities, school supplies, clothes and shoes.

After running out of school supplies to pass out, this little boy started praying so that he would be able to receive a gift as well.

The children are transported by the organization's pickup truck. The truck is also used to distribute food and supplies to the most needy and impoverished families.

I am working directly with this organization and have been so impacted by their work that it has forever marked my heart. Every cent helps and every dollar goes to these young children, young women and struggling families. CBC is SOLELY sustained by generous donations from people like you. I appreciate all your help!

All donations will be used to provide Food, clothing, Hygiene products, materials for the workshops provided, social services, outreach programs and other services for this ministry to help the impoverished families in these communities.

Donations go through Assembly of Pentecostal Churches of Jesus Christ and are tax deductible through gofundme.
