Please help us take learning OUTSIDE of the classroom, and into our Children's Garden.
We are extremely fortunate to have as our Consultant and Garden Guide, celebrity landscaper and Yard Crasher, Ahmed Hassan, and Master Landscaper Mike Pasquarello of Elite Landscaping in Berlin, NJ. With the guidance of these two experts, and with the kindness and generosity of others, we hope to raise enough funds to begin to make the Bullock Elementary Children's Garden a reality for many generations of children in the Glassboro School District.
When children physically interact with a garden, learning becomes internalized. This vacant space (seen below in the photos) will physically evolve while transforming children to better utilize their natural curiosity and love for learning. Children will explore, dig, plant and watch plants (and their own learning) GROW while documenting the garden and its growth. Lessons will become alive as students actively investigate. We will connect the concepts we teach in the classroom to real world experiences while integrating literacy, writing, math, science, and social studies. This will be done while immersing them in the beauty of nature, creating an interactive garden and integrating the Common Core Standards. Garden Education can be summed up into the words of Orison Swett Marden when he said It is like the seed put in the soil - the more one sows, the greater the harvest.
