Helping Children In South America
Welcome and thanks (Bienvenido y gracias) for visiting my GoFundMe
page as I prepare to travel to Cusco, Peru in October to volunteer in local
schools and shelters for street children to provide basic services, tutoring
and English language instruction. By working closely with local organizations,
I'll be helping to improve the educational, emotional, and hygiene conditions
of these children.
I've been fortunate enough to travel in South
America and have always been struck by the beauty and rich diversity of the
land and its people, which exist in stark contrast to the poverty that
permeates much of the region. I sincerely enjoy donating my time, effort and
resources to help make the world a better place, especially for children in
many of these developing countries.
Because the English
language tourism industry drives so many of the local economies in South
America, the simple act of teaching and providing an education gives children
meaningful skills they can use to break the cycle of poverty as adults and
support themselves and their families. The programs I'll be participating in
provide a foundation for higher education and foster a desire to help others
which can have a positive impact on individuals and communities for years to
come.
Please consider the difference that even a small donation can make in this part of the world. Your support of my efforts and these programs will help children overcome poverty and grow up to become productive members of their local communities and economies. This is an opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Please use the links above if you would like to help... anything you can do will be greatly appreciated!
