Ben Rickard and Shannon Rood, co-founders of The Dog Spot
in Boulder just lost everything in the flash flood that happened in the Denver/Boulder area on Sept 11th and 12th, 2013.
We are running this campaign to help Ben and Shannon offset some of their immediate expenses, like food, clothing, dog food, and rent (let's get them out of the Dog Spot building and into their own space with a kitchen!)
Their house, barn and 7-acre property are all completely flooded (will likely be a total loss), and they have lost all of their personal possessions. They left the property on the day of the flood with just the clothes on their back and their pets. Most likely, insurance will not cover any of their losses.
As owners of The Dog Spot, Ben and Shannon are exceptionally kind, caring, lovely members of the Boulder community, and they have cared for hundreds (probably even thousands) of dogs since they founded the business in 2004. They create such a warm and loving environment at their place of business that it is a joy to be a customer there (and to be a friend to Ben and Shannon).
At a time of great devastation and loss in Boulder, it's hard not to feel helpless. But there are families we can help, and people whose lives we can change for the better by providing some much-needed help, love and financial support. Please help if you can.
