Baseball Complex Revitalization!!!!
A Southwick Recreation Center Fund Raiser
The Southwick Recreation Center, an independent non-profit organization that has served the local community for over 60 years is starting a new fundraiser called “Baseball Complex Revitalization”. We are looking to raise money to revitalize the baseball field complex on Powder Mill Road. We are aiming to raise $20,000 to help buy materials (LOTS OF DIRT, grass seed, fencing, gravel, etc) and labor to rehab the fields. By fixing up the fields and restoring them to their former glory...we hope to bring baseball back to Southwick. This project is being spearheaded by Southwick High School Alumni and Pro-Baseball player Bryan Barnowski.
The independent organization which formed in 1961 as a baseball program expanded over the years into boys & girls soccer, basketball, tee ball, softball, floor hockey and a school-age program. Throughout the years we have been very fortunate to have a dedicated Board of Directors, and parents who have coached or volunteered to work the snack shacks and we cannot thank them enough for being part of the Southwick Recreation Center family.
The organization hopes that folks that helped out the Rec Center in the past from Southwick, Granville and Tolland or had their children participate in our sports programs can contribute to the fundraiser “Baseball Complex Revitalization!” so that we can continue to serve the kids of this community as we have done in the past.
Thank you.
