Nathaniel and I are heading back down to our Honeymoon island (in Guna Yala, Panama) to birth our first child!


We are choosing to return to the most tranquil place we know on earth to welcome our baby into the world.


We hope to take several months to get to know each other and adjust as a family. We will be flying down in May and staying until early December.


If all is going as planned, we expect to birth on the island in early July under the supervision of our Obstetrician team Dr. Rodrigo Aybar and Dr. Graciela Anhel. They are an amazing husband and wife team of Obstetricians who have also studied under the legendary midwife Ina May Gaskin.


If we encounter any red flags or warning signs we will return to Panama City and give birth in an apartment close to the hospital. We may also choose this option if Kadi decides she wants more creature comforts. 


If everything goes well on the island but we encounter last minute emergencies we are five minutes by boat to the local clinic. From there we are two hours by land or less than thirty minutes by helicopter from the Hospital Nacional in Panama City.


Since we will be traveling with only four small bags we are asking everyone to avoid purchasing gifts! Instead, we are asking for financial donations from those who wish to contribute.


We want to avoid the stress and cost of flying with a full nursery (especially since Kadi will be very pregnant)! We will purchase the items we need when we arrive. Because of the Canal, prices in Panama are roughly the same and they even use the US Dollar! 


If you do buy something, we have a small list of items we will be carrying on the plane with us. If you do purchase something from this list please make sure you get the exact item as Kadi has selected special fabrics and materials best suited for the tropical climate.
