Ariana's Volunteer Trip to Africa

Dear Friends and Family,
I am so excited to be going to South Africa on a volunteer trip through International Volunteer HQ this upcoming May. I will be stationed in Muizenberg, which is thirty minutes outside of Cape Town. Throughout my two weeks in South Africa, I will be working at a childcare center called Dreams to Reality. Most of these children have lost their parents due to crime, alcohol or drug abuse, which has forced them to live with their relatives or neighbors who may not have the means to take proper care of them. These children have dealt with extreme circumstances and experience malnutrition and inadequate stimulation or learning opportunities. I will assist with planning and carrying out educational and creative activities as well as feeding, cooking, cleaning and playing with the children. I hope that through this trip, I will build many relationships with the children and teachers that I work with.
Your generosity will help me pay for my flight and living expenses for the two weeks I am there, and it will also help me bring the children arts and crafts materials, games, and allow me to take them to fun places in order to give them memorable experiences that they will never be able to experience otherwise. My goal is to raise $2,400 to cover these expenses. Any donation would be greatly appreciated in helping my fundraising efforts to make a major impact on the children at the Dreams to Reality program.
