The About Turn Theatre Company's mission is to provide professional quality performance opportunities to extremely talented artists at the start of their careers.
Since 2002 we have produced 28 shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London and Brighton Fringes. Former About Turn members have gone on to star in feature films, perform in the West End, and on popular TV shows such as Emmerdale, The Five, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife and Midsomer Murders.
We receive no public funding. The money we gain from ticket sales do not come close to covering the huge costs of taking a show to the Edinburgh festival. An average About Turn show costs around £12,000 to stage. We must rely on the generosity of theatre lovers.
Thanks to successful crowdfunding campaigns, we have staged two ambious operas over the last two years, 'Dido & Aeneas' and 'Orpheus & Eurydice'. 'Dido' was Classic FMs 'Pick of the Fringe', and 'Orpheus & Eurydice' was in the 'Top Pick' of the Times newspaper.
This year we have an exceptional cast and crew ready to stage the Edinburgh premiere of Grigory Frid's opera 'The Diary of Anne Frank'. It promises to be a striking and powerful production of an inspirational story.
Please watch our video and see how important the work of About Turn has been to so many professional actors, directors and singers. Please ensure that we are in a position to continue to develop future talent and donate today. THANK YOU!
