Support for Aleia

Years ago ,Jameel met Emily at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL where they were employed. This vibrant young lady made a lasting impression on Jameel. She would sweep him off his feet almost as fast as he swept her off hers. Their love would grow and blossom into a beautiful baby girl. The irony is Jameel had vowed to never marry or have children and Emily had diabetes, cystic fibrosis and wasn't sure her health would allow her to have kids. Well destiny happened and on December 15, 2012 Emily gave birth to Aleia Danya Lewis.  Their love would continue to manifest and they would tie the knot on May the fourth 2014. While their love for one another would be tested, their commitment to raising their daughter would become their primary focus. Aleia is now a vibrant 3 year old who loves Frozen, Paw Patrol, Star Wars and outer space.
In early April 2016,after a car accident, Emily's cystic fibrosis and diabetes  would  require her to be hospitalized again. It was God's grace that Jameel had taken Aleia to see her mom in the hospital days before, becuase it would be her last. Emily would go into cardiac arrest for 11 minutes before she could be resuscitated and be placed in the ICU at UAB.  She would spend 2 weeks in a coma, before she would eventually succumb to the brain injury that occurred when her heart arrested. On April 24 th, Emily would be called home.  She leaves behind a 3year old daughter in Aleia Danya Lewis and Jameel to raise her as a single father. Any contribution is appreciated as Jameel is left to solely pay a mortgage, daycare and all the cost associated with raising a daughter. He is a dedicated teacher aide working with special needs children and has always been an exceptional father. He cooks, braids hair and takes his daughter on educational journeys at the Space Center, the very place he and Emily met.
