Help Rebuild Familia Herreras Home

Hello everyone, for those who don’t know me, I’m Dulce Herrera. On Saturday my older sister Gisella & I drove down to Dodge City from Manhattan to celebrate her daughter’s 6th birthday. Around 8pm everyone was outside celebrating while my younger sister Karol and I were inside. I was resting on the couch while she was drawing on her tablet listening to music. My dad came upstairs to let us know that he turned the heater on since it was getting cold outside and in the house. What felt like 5 minutes later I started smelling a fire which I asked Karol if she it was something coming from outside and that was when she noticed the smoke was downstairs and told everyone outside there’s a fire and ran upstairs to tell me to get out of the house that there’s a fire somewhere downstairs. It took about an hour for the firefighters to find the fire and we knew at this point everything was lost. The fire was finally put out entirely at 11pm and they flooded the house till 12am. My parents owned a small business that they ran from the basement of their house called Gisella Art and Design. Unfortunately nothing from their business made it along with my families belongings ranging from washer/dryers, tvs, dressers, couches, to dishes, food, medication, clothing. All our memories, including the ones that lived in photos and vhs tapes are gone, we are grieving our childhood home and need help. We are reaching out to our community for everyone to reach out to theirs. The money will be used to help rebuild our families home along with furniture. Hola a todos, para los que no me conocen, soy Dulce Herrera. El sábado, mi hermana mayor Gisella y yo fuimos a Dodge City desde Manhattan para celebrar el cumpleaños de su hija. Alrededor de las 8 p.m todos estaban afuera celebrando mientras mi hermana menor Karol y yo estábamos dentro. Estaba descansando en el sofá mientras ella dibujaba en su tableta escuchando música. Mi padre subió para decirnos que encendió el calentador ya que hacía frío afuera y dentro de la casa. Lo que se sintió como 5 minutos más tarde empecé a oler un fuego que le pregunté a Karol si era algo que venía de afuera y fue entonces cuando se dio cuenta de que el humo estaba abajo y le dijo a todos afuera que había un incendio y corrió arriba para decirme que saliera de la casa que hay un incendio en algún lugar de abajo Los bomberos tardaron aproximadamente una hora en encontrar el fuego y sabíamos que en este momento todo se había perdido. El fuego finalmente se apagó por completo a las 11 p.m. e inundaron la casa hasta las 12 a.m. Mis padres eran dueños de un pequeño negocio que dirigían desde el sótano de su casa llamado Gisella Art and Design. Desafortunadamente, nada de su negocio lo hizo junto con las pertenencias de mi familia, que van desde lavadora secadora, televisión, cómodas, entrenadores hasta platos, comida, medicamentos, ropa. Todos nuestros recuerdos, incluidos los que vivían en fotos y cintas de VHS, se han ido, estamos de duelo por el hogar de nuestra infancia y necesitamos ayuda. Estamos llegando a nuestra comunidad para que todos lleguen a la suya.
