The Amundson family has experienced a tragic loss due to a terrible accident and would appreciate your support.
On Saturday, September 21, 2019 at approximately 11 AM emergency services were contacted reporting that a kayak carrying Mike Amundson and a woman had capsized while they were practicing to prepare for a race. The woman resurfaced but unfortunately Mike never did.
Firefighters from both Dallas and Rowlett, Dallas Police, and the Texas Game Warden worked together to organize a search and recovery effort. At around 2 PM the Dallas Police Department's dive team were able to recover his body and inform my Aunt and cousin that were present at the lake that their loved one had unfortunately not made it.
Mike Amundson was not only a husband but a father, son, uncle, brother, and friend. It is with a very heavy heart that we now have to proceed to plan his funeral and memorial services with his sudden passing.
We are all extremely thankful for your love and generosity of any amount for our grieving family. All donations raised will go directly to the Amundson family.
