Hello my name is Scott Khourie. I am from Woburn, Ma, just outside of Boston. I recently celebrated my 40th Birthday. I have spent many years working in finance in New York and Boston as a research analyst, trader, and corporate executive. I have seen the negative effects of board room control, racism, sexism, and discrimination first hand. I feel it remains a huge problem in our society. I am hoping to help change the way companies think about hiring their next employee through the creation of The Draft.
The Draft will utilize a combination of techniques, networking, the old-fashioned telephone, and a website to market potential employees to companies. The companies who choose to hire The Draft candidates will be making a commitment to eliminate discrimination.
ONLY candidate qualifications will be listed on the site and only one potential employee will be listed per sector at a time. No candidate names or pictures will be listed, leaving the participating companies to decide if this person is a match based soley on her or his talents. We will essentially blast-market one individual to hundreds of participating corporate partners which we hope to obtain over time, thus focusing on the qualified individuals needs.
The Draft methodology is similar to how investment banking deals are sourced and stocks are sold on Wall Street. So I figured, perhaps I can apply a similar methodology to helping individuals and solving a real problem. When a hiring company finds out about a good candidate via The Draft, they will hopefully act quickly to select the candidate on the spot before their competitor does.
