Hi, my name is Shana Bellamy and I have recently been accepted to the Yale Young Global Scholars Program. I plan to attend this summer program for outstanding high school students. I am excited that I have been accepted to the Biological and Biomedical program for the summer of 2016. My passion for learning thrives in the field of science. I plan to continue my education and major in the field of Forensic Toxicology.
As a junior at Hamden Hall Country Day School, I maintain a grade point average of 3.8 and maintain balancing my academic and extracurricular obligations. My extracurricular activities include Dance, Lacrosse, Basketball, Softball, Chorus, and my school's A Capella singing group. I enjoy writing poetry and I frequently organize and manage volunteering at local soup kitchens.
This opportunity will not only allow me to explore my academic interest but also allows me to do it at
YALE UNIVERSITY. This is an opportunity to prepare for college at an Ivy League institution of higher learning. An awesome chance to study at one of the most prestigious and historically relevant institutions in academia, Yale University.
Students from all over the world attend this highly competitive program. I will gain a great deal from both my studies and interactions with my peers. Diversity is skill that is required in so many areas of adulthood and career development. I will be able to share this experience and create memories with people who share a common interest and common career goals.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this life changing opportunity.
My challenge is to raise $5500 to help with program costs. I have raised a portion of the funds from my family, friends, and neighbors. I need to raise these additional funds by May 18, 2016 so I am reaching out to you to ask for your help and financial assistance. I am hoping that you will consider making a donation.
I and my family greatly appreciate your kindness and support. When I return from Yale, full of intelligence and new experiences, I promise to communicate with all of my supporters to share what I have learned.
