Hi everyone!
I hope the beginning of your holiday season is going well!
As we are approaching December 1st, I wanted to make a post about my 5th annual Heart and Stroke Foundation run fundraiser in memory of my Papa Adair and in honour of my Grandpa Lloyd. For those that don’t know, my family tragically lost my Papa Adair almost five years ago from a heart attack, and three December’s ago, my Grandpa Lloyd suffered a stroke resulting in him being in the hospital over Christmas.
Each holiday season since losing my Papa Adair, I have been running 100km in the month of December to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation! In doing so, we as a community have donated almost $15,000 to support a foundation that engages in groundbreaking research, leading to new treatments, better prevention methods, and ultimately, saving lives.
As I say every year, a huge THANK YOU for your continued support and generosity. Whether you’ve been personally affected by the implications of heart attacks or strokes, or simply want to contribute to making a difference in the field, your support can, and does, go a long way! Your continued support, whether big or small, over the past five years does not go unnoticed. Each donation, check-in, and word of encouragement has created a level of gratitude that is difficult to put into words - your support has made a lasting impact, and I am deeply grateful for it ❤️
