8 years waiting for her family...
8 years ago, with the hopes of providing a better life for her young children, Lyn made the extremely difficult choice to leave her husband and their 6 yr old and 8 month old daughters, to come work in Canada. She enroled in the live-in-caregiver program. The program entailed working as a live-in for 2 years, and then one more year of work and then she would be granted permanent residence and her family could move to Canada.
The immigration system in Canada unfortnately was horrifically long, constantly delaying and increasing the processing times and (in my opinion) lacking in common decency and humanity. It has been EIGHT years, and finally, finally, finally, she has just found out that her family can finally come join her!
Lyn has been part of my family since she started babysitting Izzy when she was 4 months old.
The immigration process has been extremely expensive. Constant charges, double charges for medical exams etc.. that expired during the 8 years, and most recently $1200 for genetic testing because there was a slight typo in one of her daughter's birth certificates - it has seriously been crazy.
She does NOT know that I am doing this. Her immediate costs to bring her family here will be more than $5000. She is a proud woman and would never ask for charity - so I am asking for her.
If you can find it in your hearts to please help her out in any way, I would love to help her family get a new start without having to carry a massive debt.
If you want any more details or have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you!
