Cambodia Volunteer Trip
Donation protected
Hey everyone! I'm off to Cambodia next week, and will be volunteering at the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap for two weeks. I got involved with a local fundraiser for this hospital in January, and realized the huge impact that even a small contribution can make in a country like Cambodia. Donations by Canadians have helped make this hospital a reality. Any amount counts, and I would be so appreciative of any contribution. To see what your money would support, here are some examples:
$5 = Pain medication for 50 children
$10 = X-ray per patient
$17 = Child's care in Outpatient Department
$50 = Continuing education for 50 medical staff
$70 = Emergency Room Treatment for One Child
$100 = Two nursing students training materials
$150 = 75 Home Care patients' food supplies
$1000 = Monthly malnutrition treatment
$10,000 = Annual salary for two nurses
A child living in Cambodia is 16 times more likely to die before the age of five than a child living in Canada. Gross National annual Income is $615 per person. 28% live below the poverty line of $1.25 US per person per day. 63,000 live with HIV/AIDS. Only 4% of adults 25 years + have finished high school.
As you can see, any contribution really does make a difference. Thank you all so much!
